John Victor Florian

From: William Freebern

Our second platoon in OCS received an "Honors" award during our senior status weeks and four of us rented an apartment off- post. I got to know John well during those days. As I recall, he bought a Corvette that week. The army sent us in different directions but I knew John was destined for an interesting and rewarding life. My sympathies to the Florian family. Sincerely, Bill Freebern, 1Lt Inf. 25th I.D.

John and I were roommates for a couple of months during our time at the Infantry Officer Candidate School in 1967. We graduated on November 8, 1967 and didn't cross paths with John until 1968 at Fort Wolters, TX where we were both attending flight school. Great guy and apologize for not contacting him sooner. May your skies be clear blue.

John was one of my dearest and most sincere friends. He told me great stories about his life, in the service, with his family, and later, how much teaching meant to him. He was so proud of his students. I will miss him.

Mr.Florian was such a great teacher. He was one of the few teachers at Roosevelt that really treated us high schoolers as young adults and held us accountable as such. He earned our respect and was equally respected. Sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

J-Flo was the best teacher I had in high school and one of the teachers that teaches a lesson in a way you never forget. His poem about snow is one that I could never forget. I am so sad to hear of his passing. The entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

J-Flo was one of my favorite teachers I had in high school, and still is one of the most passionate teachers I have been lucky enough to meet over the years. I am so sad to hear about his passing. He was such a wonderful person. He will be very missed.

We are so very sorry to hear of John's passing. We live on 41st and enjoyed chatting with him and Frost as they would walk by. John and my husband also spent some quality time talking about cars. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
