From: James K. Hoffer

I worked for my father only one summer when I was still in high school. I got to know Bob and to appreciate his skills. I did not realize that he was only 9 years older than I. My dad never succeeded in his quest to have me take over his practice. If he had, I would have had a much longer relationship with Bob. No professional practice can have such success without the expertise of a technical wizard such as was Robert Aldrich.

We have so many memories of Bob, each of us leaning on the fence in the back yard while he imparted some knowledge. We treasure those early years of our marriage with you as our rock-steady neighbors, always there whenever we needed anything. Bob used to take our discarded Christmas tree to use as a home for squirrels, such a lover of nature he was. We grieve his loss, but we know he waits for us in a better place.

I remember Bob who worked in my dad’s, Dr. Hoffer’s, office and on my own braces. He was a gentle, smiling and caring man. I remember him fondly. I asked my dad what would happen to him after my dad retired. Now I know he was well cared for.

Shirley, you have my deepest sympathies at this time. Bob was such a good visitor. Glad to have you as a neighbor and friend. Just read about his job. My orthodontist was Dr. Doster wouldn't you know.

I am sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the loving promise of seeing our loved ones again soon. John 6:40 for this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day. A life without tears and pain will soon be a reality.
