Phillip Norman Hunt, Jr., was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on March 4, 1947 to Phillip Norman Hunt, Sr. and Willodene Hunt. He died on November 8, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
Phil served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971. He served in Utapau, Thailand and Vietnam. He married Martha Minor on March 2, 1968. From this union, two sons were born, Harold Edward Hunt and Scott Ryan Hunt. He had worked at Howlett Chevrolet, Brady Manufacturing and Metro Transit Authority. Phil was a Cub Scout leader and junior bowling league coach. Phil and his wife loved to travel and spend time with friends and family.
Phil is survived by his wife, Martha; sons, Harold (Jana) of Green Valley, Arizona and Scott (Danielle) of Des Moines; grandchildren, Bryce Benton, Brittany Hunt and Brandon Hunt; and his mother, Willodene Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Phil. I have fond memories of him and I making fun of each other every morning when he would stop at my grandma's before school when he was working for the MTA. He would be a good start to the day. There wasn't a time that I remember him ever being in a bad mood. He will be missed.
