Mike J. Richardson

Michael Jerome Richardson was born February 2, 1958 in Hickman, Kentucky to Cecil and Reverend Gloria Richardson.

Mike was educated in the Des Moines Public School district at Moulton and Nash elementary schools, Irving Junior High School, and North High School where he played football.

While other were pursuing interests in high school, Mike was pursuing his interest in entrepreneurship in many business ventures. To list a few, House of Chicken Restaurant, Dr. Clean and Sun Bright cleaning services, and Zip N Foods Grocery.

He and his wife, Deanna, were married by Pastor Reverend Clarance Hill of All Things Common Church of God on August 24, 1996.

During membership of All Things Common Church of God, he was called into the ministry under the leadership of Reverend Clarance Hill. Mike gave his life to the Lord and was a member of King of Kings the last two years of his life.

On April 7, 2012 at the age of 54, Mike heard the Master’s call and entered into a sweet rest. He went on to be with his father, Cecil Richardson; sister, Diane Richardson; and three infant great nieces.

Left to cherish his memory are is wife, Deanna Richardson; mother, Reverend Gloria Richardson; brother, Willie Richardson; two sisters, Kay Richardson and Carneila Richardson; two special-like daughters, Savanna Richardson and Sierra Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Elim Christian Fellowship Church, 525 East 9th Street. A private burial will be held at a later date.
