Lou Ella Roth, 72, passed away at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.

Lou was a cosmetologist for over 40 years who never truly retired. She was also a member of the Valley Junction Church of God since 1982.

Lou is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Cloud; son, David (Rhonda) Martin; sisters, Nadine Gladwin and Sue A. Gaines; brothers, John Gladwin, Harold Gladwin, Mike (Linda) Romkey and Ronald (Katherine) Hagge; grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Joshua; great-grandson, Levi; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brett Martin; husband, James (Barney) Roth; and sister, Iva Schermerhorn.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Valley Junction Church of God, 321 Elm Street, West Des Moines, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
