Victoria A. Hammer

Victoria A. Hammer, 94, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Calvin Community, where she resided for over 10 years. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Immanual United Methodist Church, 2900 49th Street, Des Moines, IA, at 11:00 a.m. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Victoria was born October 26, 1917, to Della (Robbins) and Frank Hybl in Colfax, IA. She attended school in Colfax and Newton, and then married Wayne Hammer. Together they raised their family in Des Moines. Victoria later worked at Hillis Elementary and was an active member of Immanual United Methodist Church for 50 years.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Wayne (Donna) Hammer, Jr.; daughters, Mary Lou (Phil) Wieting and Sue (John) Pierson; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, John (Elizabeth) Hybl. Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 6 siblings.
