Maryanne Davis, 82, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville, Iowa. She was born March 13, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Burton and Nora (Dawson) Nicholas.

Maryanne graduated from East High School in 1948. She started the Heavy Setters Club in Babbit, Iowa. She loved Tricam painting, playing BINGO, and going to Prairie Meadows to watch the horse races. Most of all, Maryanne enjoyed getting together with her family and friends. She was there for them no matter what and they could always count on her.

Maryanne is survived by her children, Kit (Carolyn) Davis, Karen Davis, Randy Davis, and Terry Cordero, 17 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Scott, Lance, and Jon, her parents, husband, Larry, and her siblings.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Central Iowa Shelter and Services, 205 15th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309, in loving memory of Maryanne.
