Narvella Marie Christensen

Narvella M. Christensen, 74, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Mercy Hospital.

Narvella was born October 5, 1937, to Charles and Della (Peters) Myers in Boone, Iowa. She was baptized in the Baptist Church. Narvella lived in California until 1996 when she moved to Des Moines. She worked for Zee Medical, had been a hotel housekeeper and worked at Bazz Houston.

Narvella is survived by her daughters, Brenda Christensen and Laurie (David Garrison) Christensen; granddaughter, Kelly (Ruben) Garcia; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alexis and Elizabeth Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Walter and Eugene; and her son, Neil Christensen.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

Memorial contribution may be directed to the family in loving memory of Narvella.
