Dennis Aldridge

Dennis Aldridge passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Bright Kavanagh Hospice in Des Moines. Dennis was born on November 11, 1955, in Des Moines, to Loretta and Merrill Aldridge.

Dennis graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974, and was a life-long resident of Des Moines. He worked in sales for much of his early career, including working as a self-employed car salesman, and later as a salesman at Gordon Wholesale in Des Moines. Dennis spent the last several years of his career working as a Semi driver. Like his father, he was a proud member of the Teamster’s Union.

He enjoyed buying, selling and restoring cars and antique furniture. Dennis also enjoyed traveling and had been to many places in his life. His favorite place to visit was the Florida Keys.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Loretta; his sons, Ryan, Justin, Preston and Nicholas; his sister, Denise; his brothers, Douglas and Derrick (Marsha); and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Family will greet friends starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. A private burial will take place at a later date.
