Evelyn "Peg" Engler

Evelyn “Peg” Engler passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Peg was born on May 28, 1921, to Margaret and Francis Murphy in Jolley, Iowa.

Peg was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Leslie Auxiliary. Peg was a former resident of Fonda and Osceola.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Orchard Hills Drive, in Norwalk. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fonda, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at St. John the Apostle Church in Norwalk. A rosary will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Peg is survived by her children, Daniel (Marcia) Engler of Nevada, George Engler of Sanger, TX., Thomas (Deborah) Engler of Horseshoe Bay, TX., Rebecca Webb of Norwalk, Pamela (John) Strathman of Cumming, Rita (Bob) Leitzinger of Norwalk, Timothy Engler of Roanoke, TX., Carolyn Sutton of Norwalk and Julie (Earl) Kilgore of Cumming; twenty grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Streit of Tucson, AZ.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, her parents and her sisters, Anita Kirby and Jeanne Burke.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in remembrance of Peg.
