Stephen Hurd

Stephen Hurd, 71, passed away at his home Tuesday, May 15, 2012. A memorial celebration will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, at Warren-Powers Cemetery, Runnells.

Stephen was born August 21, 1940, in Des Moines, to George and Lorraine Hurd. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Stephen was a real estate agent, worked at Jester Park Golf Course as an assistant superintendent, and spent many years self employed.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Sheryl; children, Shellie Bogardus, Shannon Hurd, Shirley (Joseph) Beedon, Stephen (Gina) Hurd, Jr., Jessica (Pablo) Lara, and Zachary Hurd; grandchildren, Savannah, Tessa, Mercedies, Miranda, Antonio, Ashley, Sophia, Brittany, Gavin, Gianna, Gabe, and Aksel; great-grandchildren, Zander and Quinn; aunt, Shirley O’Brien; and his cousins, Cherrie Porter and Richard Hurd.
