Phyllis Moore

The Lord called Phyllis Ann Moore home on February 16, 2014 at 9:56 in the evening. She was born to Clyde and Almeria (Parrish) Moore on May 13, 1958 in Sanford, North Carolina. Phyllis married Victor Dale Kent on August 24, 1978. Phyllis was a fulltime wife, mother, grandmother and an Avon representative. She had an amazing sense of humor, a love for a good story and a passion to cook for anyone who would come by to visit. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend with her charismatic, generous, and loving personality. She endeared herself in the hearts of the many lives she touched. In her final moments, she was surrounded by her family at the John Stoddard Cancer Research Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Her departure has left a huge whole in our hearts. We know Heaven is sweeter now than ever before and we will see her again soon.

She is survived by Victor Kent of Rockwell, IA; their children: Brian (Jenna) Kent, age 35, of Grimes, Iowa; Joshua (Sarah) Kent, age 32, of Urbandale, Iowa; Amber G. Kent, age 30, of Hammond, Indiana; Timothy (Heather) Kent, age 28, of Rockwell, Iowa; Jessica G. Kent, age 25, of Urbandale, Iowa; and Daniel A. Kent, age 19, of Urbandale, Iowa; her mother, Almeria Moore of Hampstead, North Carolina; sisters: Teresa Thomas of Morgantown, West Virginia; Pamela Smith of Corinth, North Carolina; Tammy Moore of Hampstead, North Carolina; her brother, Clyde Moore Jr. of Morrisville, North Carolina; and her grandchildren, Josiah, Jacob, Maddie, and Johnny of Grimes, Iowa.

There will be a memorial service in Surf City, North Carolina on Saturday, March 1, 2014at 1 p.m. at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church.
