Clara Wilson

Clara Lucille Wilson, 93, of Norwalk died peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Norwalk Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Norwalk, Iowa. She was born on August 21, 1920 in Norwalk, Iowa, the first daughter of Hebron and Hazel Tilton. Mrs. Wilson lived most of her life in Norwalk. She graduated as valedictorian from Norwalk High School in 1937.

She married David Edgar Wilson on October 5, 1940. She was a homemaker and a long- time devoted member of the Norwalk Christian Church. She was a supporter of the Navigators. She enjoyed local and family history.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Wilson, infant son, and five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons, David (Susan) Wilson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Gary (Nancy) Wilson of Syracuse, New York; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Wilson of Huntsville, Alabama, Julie (Mike) Goldston of Madison, Alabama, Betsy Wilson of Evanston, Illinois and Christopher (Michele) Wilson of Oneonta, new York; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Goldston, Amelia Goldston, Nathan Jacobson, Evelyn Jacobson, Oliver Wilson, Madelyn Wilson and Laura Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Norwalk Christian Church, 701 Main St., 515-981-0176, followed by burial at Norwalk Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, April 28, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Norwalk Christian Church.
