John Ford
July 16, 2014
John Sidney Ford, 63, was born June 17, 1951, the son of Robert and Elaine Ford. He passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
John was the owner of Ford’s Gifts and Jewelry Repair in Marshalltown. He loved his community and was greatly involved in numerous aspects. John was a member of The Church of Christ for many years. He had a heart of gold and was always there to help whenever needed. John will be remembered by his giving spirit, his beautiful smile and the ornery twinkle in his eye. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Above all else, John enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to have known him.
John is survived by his children, Clint McGrath, Amie (Richard) Christensen, Jonathan (Kari) Ford and Kelly Ford (fiance, Jason Bass); grandchildren, Sydney, Mackenna, Kensington and Carson; siblings, Janet Cose, Beverlee Magill and Dee Wilson; other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Cremation will follow visitation. Memorial services and private burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of John

My sympathy to your family. I so enjoyed going into John's store. He always had helpful hints for me as I struggled to learn how to make jewelry. Such a kind man. He will surely be missed.

My sympathy to your family. I worked with John at Marcias' and he always had a happy out look on life. He spoke of his family with great affection and pride. Go forward knowing he is looking out for you .

Dearest family of John,
I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's sudden passing. I met your dad through his faithful attendance and support of our auction company. I work there. I also sold jewelry and other items for your dad through my Ebay store. He will be terribly missed. He had a special chair in a special place at our auction house. I think his chair will be memorialized unless you kids would like to have it. Just let us know. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Beth
