Ronald Larpenter

Ronald L. Larpenter, 83, was born June 21, 1931 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Dayton and Cleone Larpenter. He passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

Ronald grew up in Des Moines. He lived the majority of his life at Cedar Valley Ranch in Vinton, IA, where he enjoyed living at the ranch and spending time with all of his friends and caregivers. He then spent the final four months of his life at Sunny Crest Nursing Center in Dysart, IA, where he was loved and cared for.

He is survived by his siblings, Sandra (Don) Davidson, Gary (Carol) McMaster, David McMaster, and Linda (Chuck) Twombly; 14 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dayton Larpenter, Richard Larpenter, Hubert Larpenter, and Larry Larpenter.

A small gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery.
