Darline Stark
July 30, 2014

Darline was born March 15, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Colleen (Hoffman) Bishop.
She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She enjoyed family get togethers where everyone could enjoy her cooking. She was an excellent cook and baker, to which no one can compare. She liked playing cards and going to the casino. She enjoyed watching Ghost Hunters on Wednesdays and never missed an annual viewing of Gone with the Wind.
Darline is survived by her husband, Lee R. Stark; children, Ann Mountain (Kevin), Jennifer May, and Christine Stark; grandchildren, Jessica Stark, Leslie Mountain (Tyler Newby), Brandi Mountain, Aaron May, Austin May, and Ashley May; great-grandchildren, Maximus, Emma, and Roger; and brothers, James Bishop and Loren Bishop and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Colleen Bishop; sister, Margaret Bishop; brother, David Bishop; and mother-in-law, Ruth Stark.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Christine and Jessica along with the rest of her family in this time of sadness and grief. I was blessed to have known Darlene for a short time but she was an amazing lady. I enjoyed seeing her everyday and our many talks at the Pre-school hearing her insight on many things. Her greatest love of her life was her family! She will be greatly missed.
Love, Ronda, Kevin, and Cameron Kreis
