Robert Emerson

Robert L. Emerson, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

Robert was born September 22, 1931 in Pitzer, Iowa to Verna and Loyal Emerson.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from Armstrong/Pirelli Tire. He is survived by his wife, Francine; daughter, Rhonda Bolin; daughter, Rebecca Akers (Terry) and their children, Rachel and Seth; daughter, Karen Emerson (Chris Cox) and her children, Phylisha, Tyler, Kevin, and Erin; great-granddaughter, Cassidy; and sister, Wanda Trease.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father in law; son, Brett Emerson; and son in law, Rick Bolin.

Family will begin greeting friends at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, with funeral service to start at 10:00 a.m., at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow the funeral at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
