Rex E. Sheehan, 55, was born June 29, 1959, to Floyd and Norma Sheehan in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away on August 23, 2014.
Rex worked for American National Can for 17 years. He was a handy man and enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Rex was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Rex is survived by his wife of 29 years, Peggy; sons, Christopher and Jonathan Sheehan; brothers, Cub (Jani) Sheehan and Bill (Mary Langen) Sheehan; sisters, Karen (Al) Hayes and Kim (Gary) Vaughn; mother-in-law, Nancy Horn; father-in-law, Richard Martin; brother-in-law, Ronnie Martin; sister-in-law, Amy (Mark) Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with visitation to begin at 12:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saylor Township Fire Department in loving memory of Rex.

I'm a long lost cousin, but I could never forget how good Rex and the whole family was to me as a child. He taught me to climb trees, and then had to teach me to climb down .... haha. I remember the snow sledding, playing in the creek, wrapping pears in the cellar, grace at the dinner table, and how the whole family was so good to me. Some of my best childhood memories. Thank you for that. Very saddened to hear the news. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

I very sadden to hear about my Cousin Rex's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and children and to the rest of the family. I know he will be greatly missed by all and he will always be in our hearts forever...
