Service Details
Alice Butts, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She leaves to mourn her passing, her six children, Alan, Nathan Jr. (Pat), Marion (Leona), Tywana, and Bridgette Butts and Patricia (James) Head and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at New Beginnings Full Gospel Family Church, 555 E Euclid Ave, Des Moines with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Momma Butts was a beautiful person. She had a wonderful spirit. She loved her family so much and taught me so much. Momma Butts thank you for welcoming me into your life and all the great adventures we took. God shared his angel with us. She will be truly missed. Love Stephanie (your other daughter ).

Patty I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing.I only met her once but she was the type of person that you felt like you knew a lifetime...she is with the angels in heaven now looking down on you and your family...she will always be around you. a gentle breeze, a sprinkle of rain that is her by your side. My sincerest condolences on your loss. I remember you mother's sense of humor and grace well. I still remember when she surprised Nathan at a high school assembly and we all laughed and she grinned from ear to ear from the joke that she had played on him.

To Alice's Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Alice's passing. I worked with Alice many, many years ago at Younkers. She was such a sweet and kind person with a great sense of humor. Even after leaving Younkers, I would stop in to see her. I was blessed to have known her. May your many wonderful memories help to comfort you. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Mother Butts was a sweet & kind lady with a big smile & heart to go with it. Always had a kind word to say. When she gave u a hug you felt her love she had. Mother is resting in the the lord.

To all my little cousins, I so sorry for our loss. From the time that I came to know Aunt Helen, she was always so sweet and special. I first met you all when you were small children, and I was so happy to get to know and love you all. Auntie and her brother (Uncle Charles, my Dad) are resting with Jesus looking out for us all. It breaks my heart to hear of Aunt Helen passing. She was a beautiful soul, and she is already missed, but her spirit lives on. I love guys and I am praying for you. May God grant you peace and comfort in the knowledge that she is at rest.

I am truly sadden to her about Aunt Helen passing, when the loss of a family member happens it affects you no matter how far apart we live from each other, the love of family is eternal, we know that savior will reunite us one day in heaven because that is his promise. Jeremiah 29:11-13.
