Evelyn L. Miller

Evelyn Miller, 95, was born April 8, 1919, to Glenn and Louie Ford in Stuart, Iowa. She passed away at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines on September 9, 2014.

Evelyn graduated from East High School in 1936. She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary – Boline Manfredi Post 9662, and she was also a member of Easton Place United Methodist Church. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting afghans and sudoku.

Evelyn is survived by her granddaughter, Cindy (Burt) Shattuck; great-grandchildren, Lisa Nauman, Jason Nauman, and Burton (Mickenzie) Shattuck Jr.; great great-grandchildren, Madison, Jayden (Peaka), Cyrus, Cole, Tayte, Harper, and Nathan; sister, Wilma (Gerald) Wallace; son-in-law, Ron Nauman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her daughter, Yvonne Nauman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
