Lucile June Haines

Lucile J. Haines, 100, of Des Moines, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Ankeny First Church of Christ, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. The family will greet visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church, 310 NW Ash Drive in Ankeny.

Lucile was born June 29, 1914, in Des Moines where she lived all her life. She was recently at Kavanagh House after a fall. Lucile worked at Younkers for many years and managed a tie shop in downtown Des Moines.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, grandma great, sister, and aunt.

Lucile was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Haines; siblings, Betty, Ernie, and Dorothy; and her parents, Oliver and Grace Bertrem. Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Bob) of Bondurant; granddaughters, Dawn (David) Lee of St. Louis, and Roni (Eric) Schuling of Bondurant; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kristen, Gage, Marilyn, and Joshua; sister, Ginny (Al) Nellor; as well as many nieces and nephews.
