Nancy P. Brown

Nancy P. Brown, 73, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice.

Nancy was born November 23, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Pauline (Ballard) Perk. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Following graduation, Nancy joined the KillingerTour where she “walked the rolling globe”. She worked for Drake University for several years and retired from the City of Des Moines. Nancy was extremely talented and played the piano and organ at Park Avenue Christian Church and Indianola Heights Christian Church. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Nancy is survived by her sons, John (Kathy) Neal and Kirk (Brenda) Brown; grandchildren, Connor and Cameron Neal and Taylor and Blake Brown; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 46 years, Jerry L. Brown.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Indianola Heights Christian Church.
