Beverly A. Huston
September 26, 2014
Beverly Arlene Huston passed away on September 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy D. Pontious-Huston; her husband of 52 years, James S. “Jim” Huston; her mother, Eva; father, Charles; and brother, Dale Anderson “Chuck”. (Note: Beverly passed on the same exact day as her Father on 09/26/1938)
Beverly is survived by two daughters, Linda Bennett, husband J.T. Bennett and Lorri Huston and a son, Dennis James Huston, wife Connie and their children, Sheri, D.J. II, Lisa, Joe, Jay, Tim and Abby. She was the “Best Grandma ever!” (Just ask them!) Beverly was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
Beverly worked sparingly during her life instead devoting most of her life to being a full time mother, housewife and grandmother. Her hobbies were doing jigsaw puzzles and shopping. Boy, did she love to shop when her health permitted! When her health began to fail, she found joy in shopping on QVC. Beverly also loved to bake and, unlike most women, she also enjoyed doing laundry. Last but not least, Beverly was a Cubs, Bulls and Hawkeye fan.
Beverly and Jim Huston are together in love, always and will be jointly memorialized at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA, 50309 with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 11, 2014. Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA following the memorial services in the family plot, #833, section “O”.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Puppy Jake Foundation at http://puppyjakefoundation.org/about-the-foundation to help wounded veterans in the name of James and Beverly Huston. (The Family Thanks You!)

Every time that I smile,
Every time that I sigh,
I think of your face,
And a tear escapes my eye.
You were my world,
My inspiration and my heart,
But when you left me,
I thought I would fall apart.
You were my best friend,
My one true 'confidante',
And that's not all you were,
You were also my mom.
I didn't want to live without you,
But you would have wanted me to, And if there's anyone I want to make happy, That anyone is you.
I would have given anything to have you back. But I know now that was not meant to be. For you are still watching from up there. And I know you are watching me.
I'll make you proud Mom, I am going to fulfill your wish. You are going to see me smile, that's a daughters promise.

I am so greatful to have seen Bev (My Other Mom) as she would always say this past June. Bev and my Dad were married when I was 2 years old and she raised me as her own and treated me as her own. She will be missed by all those she touched but never forgotten and the Angels have a great member on their team. Rest In Peace and you'll be in our Hearts forever. Denny, Connie, Sheri and D.J.
