I met Bob in 1971 when I joined the Conservation Commission. He was a great person to work with. In later years, I would sometimes see him and Ida at the local Dahls. I always enjoyed visiting with him.

To Bob's dear family - just read of Bob's passing notice in the DeWitt Observer. May dad was Henry (Hank) and I remember many visits with Bob during my growing up years in Calamus. I always thought Dad and Bob looked alike. Our deepest sympathies, love and blessings to all of you.

Fagerland Family -- My condolences for your loss. I came to state government in 1976 in what was then the Department of Soil Conservation. He would school me in the art of lobbying at the Legislature. I will always remember those discussions. He was a great guy. Ken Tow, Waukee, Iowa

Dear Ida and Family-I was deeply saddened this morning when I read about Bob's passing in the Register. My memory immediately recalled our long association as staff members of the DNR and our lengthy chats about hunting and golf. I often kidded him about the two of us being the only left handed golfers on the course. Our friendship stretched over many decades. He will always have my deepest appreciation for his wry sense of humor. He will be missed by many. Bet regards-Jim Mayhew
