Gerald F. Reinhart

Gerald Reinhart, 71, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014. He was born July 3, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana.
Gerald graduated in 1958, from Mater Dei High School. He attended Chicago Institute of Interior Design in 1961, and went on to University of Evansville in 1966. He enjoyed volunteering at the Governor’s Manson on Terrace Hill and playing the piano for their monthly Tea’s and other functions. He loved hosting gatherings and entertaining friends. Gerald’s most recent job was at Properties Manager for Martin Brody, he would take care of properties, doing CAD drawings to be presented to facilities when spaces needed to be redone for tenants.
He is survived by his partner, Monte McKercher; sister, June; niece, Kim; nephew, Alan; and many many dear friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A time of gathering for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

I worked with Jerry at Central Tractor and I will always remember his wit, his smile and his crazy laugh! RIP Jerry. Monte, I am so sorry for your loss and heartache. Peace and love.

Monti, Sorry to here of Jerry's passing. My thoughts and prayers for you. I always remembered him telling me that you always enjoy riding Ragbrai with us. And you always looked forward to that week.
