Robert Smith

Robert Smith, 74, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Robert was born August 26, 1940 in Des Moines to Bill and Velda Smith. He served in the U.S. Marines for four years and was employed as a warehouse worker. On September 22, 1960, Robert married Hazel Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing on the computer.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Tammy; sons, Robert Jr. and Ronald (Brenda); brothers, Ronald and Jack; sisters, Barbara, Rose, Mary and Violet; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, “Sug”; father, Bill; mother, Velda; sister, Frances; and brother, Donald.

According to Robert’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
