Verlene Muhlenburg

Verlene Allen-Muhlenburg, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She was born July 26, 1939 to Herbert and Ethel Creek in Clay City, Illinois.
Verlene was an accomplished upholsterer and seamstress. She was an avid musician and specialized in playing the organ. Verlene enjoyed listening to country music, crocheting, playing BINGO and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; daughter, Candy Allen; step-children, Bruce, Brian, Bobby, Barry and Cindy; grandson, Curtis; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Noah; and sisters, Linea and Karen. Verlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie; and first husband, Ray Allen.
Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, October 25th at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Verlene's passing. I really enjoyed our conversations when she and Ron would come to Lutheran for testing. She was such a delight to talk to. May God sustain you at this difficult time. You are in my prayers.

Although Ive not seen Verlene In a While; I recall Her Laughter and her Fun times She had with My Brother Denny Simon whom Verlenes Sister Linea now is his widow.And he was such a tease towards Verlene as well.
