Florine Hill

Florine Hill, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, October 24, 2014, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.

Florine was a loving mother to her family. She enjoyed going to the malls, caring for her plants, sewing and various arts and crafts. She was very talented when it came to home improvement projects, and was an excellent cook.

Florine was born January 7, 1924, in Troy, Kansas, to Inez and William Beattie. She is survived by her son, Larry Hill of Des Moines; daughters, Clarice Brewer and Teresa Hill of New York, and Valerie (Jim) Allen and Phyllis Hill of Des Moines; grandchildren, Kellie Brewer, Nicole Hill, Jillisa Hill, and Jeff Daniels; great-grandchildren, Sierrah Kittrell, Shanetino Kittrell, and Branden Brewer; and great-great-grandchild, Elijah Kittrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aloysious Hill; son, Alfred Hill; brother, Hubert Beattie; granddaughter, Toni Brewer; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm prior to services. Burial will take place at a later date.
