Dorothy Neeley

Dorothy “Dot” (Wright) Neeley, 89, was born December 21, 1924 in Orchard, Iowa to John and Geraldine (Samuels) Wright. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Prairie Vista Village after several years coping with Alzheimer’s and colon cancer.

Dot was a strong woman who cheated death many times during her health battles. The Lord granted her wish, gave her wings, and took her home. She joins her parents, husband, sister, brothers-in-law and grandson who precede her in death. Dot is survived by five generations who will remember “Grandma Dot”: her children, Anne (Ted) Newell, Lynn (Lauren) Neeley and Terry (Yody) Neeley, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Brenda (Owen) Currier and Jack Wright; and many nieces and nephews.

Our sincere thanks to the staff at the Shores in Pleasant Hill, Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, and UnityPoint Hospice, for their care of Dot.

A celebration of life will be held at United Methodist Church, 501 W 4th St., St. Ansgar, IA Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice.
