Harold W. "Trum" Trumbull, Jr.

Harold W. Trumbull, Jr. passed away peacefully on December 11, 2014. He was born on August 17, 1931 in Lawrence, Kansas to Harold, Sr. and Elta (Dains) Trumbull.
Harold grew up in Kansas and Missouri before moving to Chariton, Iowa in 1970 where he resided until 2005. He was a member of the National Guard and worked for Hy-Vee for over 44 years. Harold started as a bagger and worked his way up to store manager and eventually district supervisor. At the end of his career, he served as Assistant Vice President of Equipment Purchasing. Harold enjoyed fine dining, Italian Wine (ONLY!), jazz music and traveling the world with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Butch (Cindy) and Monte (Tammy) Trumbull; grandchildren, Justin Trumbull, Jamie Salturelli, Lindsay Trumbull and Christie Stoll; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Trumbull.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Per Harold’s wishes, his body was donated to the University of Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society and Heartland Presbyterian Church-Building Fund.
