Bob Reynolds
December 15, 2014
Bob Reynolds, 77, passed away at his home Monday, December 15, 2014.
Bob was born April 1, 1937 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. He graduated from Waukee High School in 1956, where he played basketball. Bob owned and operated 18 Wheeler Training School. He later worked with Winifred Law Opportunity Center and Link Associates. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Boone Elks Lodge #563.
Bob was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golfing, fast pitch softball, bowling and fishing. Bob was a Hawkeye, Packers and Cubs fan.
First and foremost, he was the number one fan of his children and grandchildren. He coached his sons Little League teams, never missed a grandchild’s dance recital, wrestling meet, soccer game or any other event they were in. He was also very handy and enjoyed woodworking. Over the years he built dollhouses, little kitchen cupboards and table & chairs that have been passed down through three generations are still going strong.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda; children, Rick Reynolds, Renee Rogers, Randy (Penny) Reynolds, Jill (Russ) Harris and Eric Reynolds; grandchildren, David, Dennis, Danny, Jessica, Emilee, Matthew, Joshua, Brandon and Dustin; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Evan, Ava and Lennon; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Reynolds and Norma Russell; sisters, Paula Reynolds and Joan Hoch; and daughter, Robin Short.
The family will greet friends from 12 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
