Betty Baker

Betty Jeanne Baker, 86, of Wakonda Manor in Des Moines, passed away December 18, 2014 at the Carlisle Care Center. She was a member of Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church, 1217 Watrous Avenue.

Betty was born February 7, 1928 in Tama, Iowa to Alfred and Mable Clatt. She worked for many years as a server in the cafeterias of Dahl’s and Hy-Vee.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Debi Lane, Cher’i Harrison and Charlene Joye; son, Douglas Hoffman; grandsons, Josh, Teddy and James; great-grandson, Teddy III; and her good friend, Merle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dale and Cisco; and her sister, June.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her church.
