Larry Van Hill, 68, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, also at Hamilton’s, followed by cremation. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Larry was born May 22, 1946 in Clarinda, Iowa to Gerald and Helen (Meads) Hill. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Larry was a hard worker and a very caring person. He was a wonderful dad and grandpa.

He is survived by his significant other, Jerri Reeves; children, Rick, Julie, Mike, Carrie, Paul, Alleta, Gerald, Mary, Tammy, Orville and Stephanie, twenty-nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet and Joyce; and his former wife and mother of his children, Oma Diane Hill.
