Dennis Paul Gibb, 59, passed away very unexpectedly Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home in Des Moines.

Dennis was born March 23, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Richard and Norma Gibb. Dennis was a very down to earth guy with a great sense of humor and he always had a smile on his face. He was a single parent and his family always came first. He was just learning to play guitar and took pride in his muscle car, a ’67 Chevelle SS. Dennis was a Raiders fan and will be remembered as the life of the party.

He will live on in the hearts of his children, Angie Verburg (Jake Mitchell), Jacob Chapman (Carli), Heather Chapman (Eddie Linebach), Mason Gibb, and Mariah Gibb and his granddaughters, Katelyn, Leah and Kamren, who will miss their “Papa.” He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Gibb and Phyllis Gibbens. He joins his parents who precede him in death.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting visitors at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
