Lila Mae Franson

Lila Mae Franson, 86, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Fountain West Health Care Center. She was born in River Forest, Illinois on October 24, 1928 to Helen and Harold Teasdale, and had two brothers, Glen and John.

Lila graduated from Wheaton College in 1950 with a home economics degree. It was there she met her husband, Wayne Franson, and they were married in 1952. Lila was the mother of Janice (Luis) Llovera, Nancy (Jerry) Foster, and Jerry (Janie) Franson. Lila had lived in Grand Rapids and Cadillac, Michigan, Bozeman, Montana and most recently in West Des Moines, Iowa. She loved her family and was blessed with grandchildren, Joe (Candy) Franson, Jay (Machell) Franson, Brooke (Wade) Den Hartog, Ryan (Angie) Foster, Celeste Llovera, Christy Franson, Andrea (Eric) Matolo, Regan (Libby) Foster, Marvin Franson, Mike Franson, and Kaity (Nick) Hunsberger; and twelve great-grandchildren have added to her joy over the years.

Lila loved the Lord and He has kept her safe through the struggles of life, giving her great hope of a welcome home to a place where there is "no sickness, sorrow or death." Lila has looked forward to her reunion with Jesus and her husband, Wayne; parents; brother, Glen; sister-in-law. Nellie; and countless loved ones who have gone before into glory.

Visitation will be held 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkwy, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines with a funeral service to follow at 5:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
