Jesse Lara

Jesse H. Lara, 76, was born December 26, 1938. He passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice with his loving family by his side.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela; children, Jessica (Martin) O’Keeffe and Russell (Kathryn) Lara; grandchildren, Zachary Schipper (Miranda), Olivia, Rachel and Lauren O’Keeffe, and Sophia Lara; great-grandson, Jaxson Schipper; siblings, Maria (Lalo) Barbosa and Maro Lara; and brothers- and sister-in-law, Gary (Lynda) Millard, Patricia (Don) Gibbs, and Jim (Laura) Millard; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many siblings.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Bethany New Life Christian Fellowship, 3040 SE 72nd Street, Runnells, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
