Laura Denise Anderson, 64, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice.
Laura was born January 6, 1951 in Norwalk, Iowa to Ivan and Florence Graham. She graduated with her degree in horticulture from Des Moines Area Community College. Laura was a free spirit and a flower child to the end. She was a gypsy at heart and enjoyed traveling and experiencing other cultures. Her son Seth has fond memories of an extended trip to Mexico. Laura loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting.
Cherishing her memory are her mother, Florence Graham; son, Seth Anderson; and grandchildren, Sydney Kalbach, Skyler Anderson, Seth Anderson II and Noah Anderson. She is also survived by her sister, Stella (Dennis) Fleetwood; niece, Shelley Bodine; great-nephews, Cameron Kloster, Aaron Bodine and Alexander Bodine; aunts, Louise Walters and Irene Bellville; uncle, Vern “Bud” Randolph; as well as many beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan; grandparents, Ester Carlson Randolph and Leonard Allen Randolph; and long-time companion, Steve Voorhees.
Cremation has occurred and a celebration of Laura’s life will be held in the spring.

Laura was definitely one of a kind.
There aren't many people in this world as free spirited as she was. She was able to experience life as it should be lived-without a care in the world.
Sydney will greatly miss his grandma Laura and was happy to have the opportunity to spend time with her before her passing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Flo, Seth, Stella and Shelly as well as the rest of the family. I loved Laura and the kindness that she always shared with me and my children Kay and Bryan. I'll never forget the family reunions, the camping and fishing that she and I bonded over. My heart is so sad to see her leave this earth. However, I know now, she can be that free spirit that she emanated in her life. Fly Like An Angel my sweet friend. I will miss you.

Our family has lost our beloved Laura. My heart goes out to my sister Flo and her family. We loved her well! She will be so missed. A loving beautiful heart that had to stop when GOD called her home. May you rest in peace dear neice until we all meet again at a family reunion in heaven.

Dearest cousin Laura, so many wonderful memories when we were kids and teens. I temember coming to spend the weekends at your house in Ankeny. The three of us would go to the bowling alley and movies.. And all the sundays at grandmas house!! RIP. Love

Aunt Flo, I'm so sorry for your loss, I have so many great memories of Laura, we had such a great childhood together! When my mom used to babysit her & I would put our imaginations together & make believe we could fly away to other planets, we even made our own spaceship out of old trailer parts, haha! She was like a sister to me & will be missed until we meet again in Heaven ! Love and much sympathy to you, see you at her memorial!

Laura will be greatly missed by all who knew her!!! My fondest memories of her are at our Family Reunions. She was always so sweet & loving. My parents loved her dearly! I enjoy hearing stories from my Dad of times when they were younger. Rest in peace sweet Laura! Prayers & love to all her family & friends.

I remember drinking beers with Laura at Hull Ave. Pub. Watching Johnny Reeferseed. Karaoke nights, and family holidays and barbeques. She always made me laugh. I used to tell her "you look like that actress". She would always laugh and ask which one. (Diane Keaton). I never could remember the actresses name but Laura knew. She will be missed greatly but her memory will never fade.

I was sitting her watching tv and the commercial came on for the new survivor. you used to plan life around survivor. lol. you had such a productive life. so much love and so many adventures. i have missed you for a long time. but your actually being gone is hard to take in. i am the woman i am because of you and mom and grandma. you have no idea how much you influenced me. you were always there when i needed you and my kids to. fly with the angels and keep watch over us. i love you soooo much. you will be deeply missed
