Robert Padgett, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Padgett, Jr., 62, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2015 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born on November 13, 1952 in Des Moines to Robert Padgett, Sr. and Jennie (McAfee) Chapman.

Bob served in the Marine Corp and later went on to work at Firestone for over 40 years. He loved listening to the Beatles and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Sara and Bobbi; grandchildren, Seion, Lilith and Luna; sister, Lynda Cannon; brother, Michael Chapman; stepfather, Raymond Chapman; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Chapman and father, Robert Padget, Sr.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel with visitation from 2:00 – 5:00 pm with a time of sharing at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

We are simply heartbroken to hear the news of Bob's sudden passing. He spent time with us years ago and we love him dearly. He was so proud of his girls and talked about them many times to us.Mike, Joe, and Andy thought the world of him. In the past years we'd lost contact. When Richard called to tell us of his passing we couldn't believe it.He is with his Dad, Mom, and Grandma Hazel now sharing old stories. Always remember him as the loving and unselfish man he was. RIP Bob.
