Thomas Stolmeier

Thomas F. Stolmeier passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was born to Frank and Mary Stolmeier in Des Moines on November 21, 1934.

Tom graduated from Dowling High School. He retired from Iowa Power/MidAmerican Energy after 42+ years of service. Tom lived by an incredible work ethic and went to work every day to provide for his children’s future. He loved baseball and coached South Des Moines Little League and Senior League when his children were growing up.

Tom is survived by his wife, Bridget Ann; children, Steven (Cheryl) Stolmeier, Patrick (Laura) Stolmeier, Shelly Survant Stolmeier and Martin Stolmeier; grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Matthew, Amy, Jonathan, Christopher, Ryan, Justin and Preston; and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence (Jean) and Mary (Jerry); and a host of extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
