Thomas "Tom" Diltz

Tom Diltz, 68, was born September 15, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away with his loving family by his side at Mercy Hospital on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Tom was active duty in the Navy from 1964 to 1968. He was recently retired in September of 2014 from owning and operating Rosey Acres Winery. During his retirement he also drove a school bus for the Southeast Polk School District. He enjoyed judging amateur wine competitions at the Iowa State Fair. Tom and his wife Karen enjoyed spending winters going on tropical cruises and spending time together. His most cherished times were spent with his daughters and granddaughters.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen; daughters, Stacie (Eric) Newton and Diana Diltz; granddaughters, Emma and Josie Newton. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 a.m. prior to service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Tom Diltz and the family will distribute contributions to the Iowa Grape Growers Association for Amateur Wine Maker’s.

I didn't know Tom well.
A friendly smile at the Winery or a chat at the Farmers Market.
