Richard E. Adkins, 48, passed away at his home Friday, March 20, 2015.
Richard was born June 8, 1966 in Huntington, West Virginia to Richard and Elizabeth Adkins. He had worked as a truck driver for Robert’s Dairy. Richard played guitar in their family band, “Gone Bad”. The band played primarily classic country. Most recently they entertained at various local nursing homes.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Jodi Adkins; children, Richard James Adkins of Des Moines, Jaimi (Blade) Cerrato of Williamson, Iowa and Kasy (Dustin) Gilmore of Norwalk, Iowa; two grandchildren; father, Richard Adkins of Norwalk; siblings, Melissa Adkins, Lisa Adkins and Moses Jay Adkins, all of Texas; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth and his sister, Charlena Rodriguez.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

i have still not grasped the reallity that you are gone. it just doesnt seem real at all. i know that you are in a better place. everyone keeps mentioning about you being a dad, grandpa, and friend. what they forget is that you were way more. you were my BROTHER. you were also a son and a husband, but you were my BROTHER. I love you Rick and you will always be in my heart. till we meet again beyond the pearly gates.

Rick I just cannot believe your gone. I will miss the laughs and talks about the kids and grand kids.I know you did not choose to right now but heaven must have needed you more. We are just lost and beside our self trying to grasp the truth that your gone. You were a good man, father, grandpa, dad and friend to many. There were not a time you did not lift me up with encouragement when I was going through stuff. I loved hearing how much you adored your family but mostly your wife. I love how you bragged on her and how proud you were of her every accomplishment. You too were an awesome guy. You will be missed!! We love you and will always remember you. Now you are healed and no more meds, dr. or appointments. Your totally healed. Show them how to play in the choir Rick...I will see you one day
