Theodore "Ted" Ramsey III
March 26, 2015
Theodore Allen Ramsey III, 56, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at home. Ted was born on December 27, 1958.
Ted began his career at UPS in July 1976 at the age of 17. Over the course of the next 37 years, he continued his career at UPS in various roles as an hourly employee, part-supervisor, Package Car Driver then over the tractor-trailer driver. With all of his years of experience he learned the following: make right hand turns, back first and see the big picture. During his last 21 years, he moved into a management role as a supervisor working with and touching the lives of many tractor-trailer drivers. UPS gave him many opportunities including national and international travel. His favorite experience was riding in a Hot Air Balloon. Although, he was at Niagara Falls, he did not go because he wanted his family to experience the beauty with him.
He married Donette Cox on July 27,1979. They had five children together. He enjoyed watching his children in their sporting events, along with March Band completions. His love of trains, planes and automobiles took him to many places across the United States with work and family. Some of his favorite experiences were fishing in Canada, Hawaii with friends, a Disney Caribbean Cruise and a mission trip to Jamaica. He enjoyed the need for speed – go kart racing and roller coasters, fishing and horse- back riding.
Ted is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donette; children, Audra (Donovan) of Huntington, WV, Rebekah (Dan) of Panora, Theo (Megan) of Azle,TX, Laura and Noah of Panora., Grandchildren, Gabe, Austin, Addison, Eliza and Jaiden. He also has four Aunts, one Uncle and a host of extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 30, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Ted.

I remember when my friend and co worker Leona Ramsey and her husband Ted had little Teddy. I was sorry to read of his death in our newspaper. I recall Leona speaking so proudly of all of her grandchildren. My sympathy to all of you at his death.

So very sorry to hear of Ted's passing. I worked with Ted in the Des Moines Hub going back to the late 70's. I transferred to Davenport in late 1989 and have only seen him a few times. I remember taking him to Chicago with me to meet with Schedulers back in the early 90's. Ted always had a positive attitude and was well liked by everyone he encountered. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I am sure he is in a better place and we can all take comfort in difficult times like this that there is a plan for all or us.

Our family extends prayers and condolence for the death of Noah's dad, Theodore Ramsey. The Ramsey Family has undergone much with the extended health problems of Mr. Ramsey. Noah is a young man we are proud to know and thankful to have in our children's activities. Noah's fine qualities reflect the strength and kindness of his father and family.
Sincerely, The Webner Family
