John Moore

John (Jack) Moore, 98, passed away at home March 29, 2015. He donated his body to Des Moines University. Jack served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944. He was a retired member of the Operating Engineers Local 234.

Jack is survived by his wife of 72 years, Zola; his children, Luke (Diane) Jenner, Gary (Elaine) Moore and Donna (Jack) Granger; grandchildren, Ross and Brett Jenner, Jacqueline Moore and Lee and Elizabeth Granger. Jack’s family is especially grateful to his neighbors for their long term friendship.

A memorial service will be held on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa.
