Mildred Reed
April 12, 2015
Mildred M. Reed, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Millie was born on July 25, 1936 in Martensdale, Iowa to Don and Opal (Lamb) Nicholl. Millie met her future husband, Raymond Reed as a teen and have been together ever since. They both enjoyed many years going to country dances and over the years, developed their own unique style of dancing. In spite of her health issues, Ray and Millie shared their final dance together just last year. Along with their five children, they enjoyed camping, spending with extended family, trying their luck at the Casinos, and enjoying their grandkids and all of their "adopted" kids. Millie had a passion for being a mother and was a mom to everyone; the door was always open. Millie had a way of making everyone feel welcome and a wonderful sense of humor.
Millie is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond; children, Connie (Dennis) Allison, Ronald (Patricia) Reed, Cathy Kinzie, Robert (Misty) Reed and Richard (Jean Ann) Reed; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ivan Nicholl.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home. Mildred will be laid to rest at Linn Grove Cemetery in Prole, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to family in loving memory of Millie.

Mrs Reed was one of the finest & nicest people Ive ever known, the world lost one of the "Good Ones" when she passed away. She's no longer suffering, so that is a good thing...She will be missed by many, myself included!
