William Kattner

William Kattner, 84, died April 21, 2015. He was born April 25, 1930, in Spring Grove, IL, to Arthur & Emma Kattner.

William lived in McHenry County IL. area his whole life before moving to Des Moines IA. 3 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Catholic Church. He and his wife Mary was very active in the Moose Lodge in Johnsburg, IL. He was also a proud member of the VFW. He joined Capital City Moose Lodge as soon as he moved to Des Moines.

William is survived by his daughter, Linda Payton; grandchildren, Lisa (Tom) Davis, Lonnie (Tina) Payton, Luke (Courtney) Payton; many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mary. Bill was an avid golfer, and loved to work in his garden.

Visitation will start at 3:00 PM with the memorial service to start at 4:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Union Park Grace Fellowship Church, 832 Grandview (corner of E 9th and Grandview) Des Moines IA. Burial will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Avondale Cemetery.
