I never knew Vern but I grew up next door to his parents, Lawrence and Helen, in Tama. They were the nicest people and when I was older I enjoyed their dandelion wine. I'm sure Vern was much like his parents. Ironically I now live next door to their gravesite.

Vern had a place in his heart for us all, whether you were family or friends. I considered him both....He was always sincere, with a smile on his face and loved to laugh with us. I'm thinking of your whole family today, especially Michele. You will always have a me to lean on.

We are so sorry for the passing of your dad. I have fond memories of Vern throughout my entire life. My dad and yours have been friends for some 73 years..they were two peas in a pod and he will miss Vern terribly. God Bless you and the entire family.
