Richard "Butch" Boley

Richard “Butch” Boley, 69, was born in Des Moines on August 29, 1945, the son of Donald and Dorothy Boley. He passed away at Valley View Village on July 1, 2015.

Butch enjoyed motorcycles, boxing, especially the Rocky movies, and baking. He adored his grandchildren and spending time with them. Butch had a strong faith and loved preaching the word of God.

Butch is survived by his children, Nancy Johnson, Christina Boley, Tammy Boley, Carol (Todd) Giblin, Chad Boley, and Christopher Bear; grandchildren, Krystle Sanchez, Victoria Vasquez, Jesse James Boley, Vanessa Boley, Angela Boley, Gabby Sotter, Margarita Boley, Allen McCain, Nicole Tyler Willey, Latashiana Boley, Christian Boley, Zacharia Boley, Colton Boley, and Jaystan Boley; 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Mae Hyden, Arlene (Dave) White, Donald (Georgia) Boley and Oran (Betty) Boley; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Boley; and parents, Donald and Dorothy Boley.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at First Church of the Nazarene, 4703 Douglas Ave., Des Moines. A potluck reception will follow. Please bring a dish to share.
