Robert Hanson, Jr.

Robert “Jim” Hanson, Jr., 65, was born January 6, 1950, to Dr. Robert and Madonna Hanson in Des Moines. He passed away at Bright Kavanagh on July 1, 2015.
Jim enjoyed auto racing, and worked for Midwest Energy as a Lineman until 1985.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Tom (Jan) Hanson of Johnson, Theresa Brown of Norwalk, Tim (Jolene) Hanson of Altoona, and Paula Patrick of Des Moines; step-mother, Betty Hansen of Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Glendale Cemetery, 4909 University in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League.

I remember taking care of Jim during one of my clinicals as an LPN student. I just loved him so much. He made me smile every time I saw him. He helped me realize that I wanted to work in long term care. I will always remember that clinical experience and him with very fond memories. God Bless his memory and those he loved.

This breaks my heart!! He was a joy to so many of us for a very long time and we loved him dearly!! He is greatly missed!! So very sorry for your loss.

A very sweet man! Loved ice cream , salads, chips! And Oscar Meyer hot dogs! Always sat quietly. Miss him! Sorry for your loss!
