Estelesa Fernandes

Estelisa Fernandes, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born April 30, 1936, in Malindi, Kenya to Laurent and Idina Pereira. She had a very strong faith and prayed the rosary every day. She loved cooking and traveling and enjoyed going shopping with her “favorite son” Francis.

Estelisa is survived by daughters, Judy Mathews (Mike), Nancy Badtram (Keith), Maria Richardson (Terry); sons, Martin, Francis, Lawrence; son-in-law, Tim Cox, Sr.; grandchildren, Judy Padilla, Richard Padilla, Amanda Padilla, Sheena Chapman, Anthony Fernandes (Alyssa Wise), Tim Cox, Jr. (Jennifer), Andrew Richardson, Tera Richardson, Terry Richardson, Jr., Mary Badtram, and Stephanie Badtram; and great-grandchildren, Aaron Scott, Richard Padilla, Jr., Breanna Padilla, Jada Fernandes and Alaya Fernandes; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony; son, Alouious; granddaughter, Angel; and grandson, Forester.

Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday July 26, 2015, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday July 27, 2015, at Basilica of St. John, 1915 University Avenue.
