Phyllis Bernadine Mooberry

Phyllis Bernadine Mooberry, 92, passed away July 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

She was born December 6, 1922 in Truro, Iowa to Ralph and Carrie (Sinn) Muselman. Phyllis graduated from Osceola High School in 1941 and married James Mooberry on June 29, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. The couple lived in Osceola, Iowa until moving to Des Moines in 1955, and were currently residing at Kennybrook Village in Grimes.

Phyllis worked as a certified nurse aide until her retirement in 1983. She loved to have a flower garden and her hobby was crossword puzzles. Phyllis attended New Hope Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by husband, James Mooberry of Grimes; sons, Jerry (Terri) Mooberry of Snohomish, Washington and David Mooberry (fiancé, Kerri) of Urbandale; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, James Lynn Mooberry; and her sister, Darlene Mooberry.

The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa, with funeral services to follow. Burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. following the funeral.
